Welcome to BSPdb
Bacterial Surface Polysaccharide Genes Database
Bacterial surface polysaccharides (BSPs) play a vital role in host–pathogen interactions. The high level diversity of BSPs provides the basis for serotyping scheme, which is the‘gold standard’for bacterial pathogen detection and subtyping, and essential for effective surveillance. Molecular serotyping method based on the genetic variations of BSP gene clusters has been regarded as an efficient alternative to conventional serotyping. BSPdb is a universal integrated platform developed with the intention to provide the most comprehensive information and a set of analysis tools which can facilitate the utilization and the development of molecular serotyping.
